Uprising is a curriculum based program we are developing to disciple fathers and sons. It consists of 9 units spread out over two months. The first unit brings the fathers and sons together in an all day event. We’ll spend the day laying a foundation for the upcoming units and giving the dads and sons a chance to learn a little more about each other.
The next seven units are just for dad and happen for a couple of hours once a week. These are an opportunity for the dads to get together and using the curriculum talk about how to model biblical principles for their sons. Each week during a facilitator led group meeting we’ll talk about relevant issues and how God says we should handle them.
We’ll also look at some activities for dad to take home and do with his son(s). Fifteen minute readings and discussions you can do with your son daily, or combine them and spend an hour or so a week talking about how that week’s subject applies.
The final unit brings the dads and son(s) back together for a wrap up session and to just have some fun as a group. We’ll summarize the journey so far and we’ll talk about some next steps for everyone.
